Aus­tralia’s big­gest clas­sic bike gath­er­ing just gets big­ger ev­ery year. The 2014 Pen­rite BBB drew over 1,100 mo­tor­cy­cle en­tries across the seven dis­ci­plines, us­ing the road race, mo­tocross, scram­bles, tri­als, en­duro, speed­way and dirt track cir­cuits, with more than 5,200 spec­ta­tors soak­ing up the bril­liant weather. Easter fell Each year the Bo­nanza has had a spe­cial theme, and for 2014 it had two; cel­e­bra­tions of the Cas­trol Six Hour Races and the BP Desert Ral­lies. For­mer desert bash­ers got to­gether on the Fri­day evening to wit­ness the re­lease of Roger Har­vey’s lat­est book – a pho­to­graphic com­pile of the events that be­gan as the Sun­raysia 250 and and fea­tured in­ter­views with rac­ing star of the ‘six­ties and ‘seven­ties Peggy Hyde, plus a one-hour in­ter­view of spe­cial guest Graeme Crosby by MC Alan Cath­cart. In ad­di­tion, the in­au­gu­ral awards for the Leg­ends of Mo­tor­cy­cling were made to Ted God­dard and Lind­say Urquhart by Mo­tor­cy­cling Aus­tralia
