Brilliant Bonanza

Old Bike Australasia - - BLOW YOUR OWN -

I have just read your report on the 2014 Penrite Broadford Bonanza and drooled over the great selection of photos. It was my first trip to the Bonanza and having not been on a dirt track for almost 30 years, I had an absolute blast on my DT2. I found the whole weekend brilliant as you pointed out in your report. The standard of motorcycles gathered was excellent and the organising committee should be congratulated on the way it was all put together. The low-key atmosphere was a delight with everyone there for the same reason, to have fun and appreciate the sport for what it is. I met so many interesting “characters” in the campground and caught up with many old mates. The pits at the road-race circuit was an absolute delight, I had to walk through many times and each trip unveiled something new. I will certainly be back next year for another trip back in time.

Glad you enjoyed the show Mark, and Raritee will be sending you a smart t-shirt of your choice to wear at the 2015 Bonanza. – Ed

CENTRE RIGHT The spirit of the Bonanza. Battle-scarred 8/80 JAP speedway outfit bursts into life. All it took was a fifty metre run-up and plenty of willing pushers.
