Northern Rivers Classic Motorcycle Club Members’ Show

- Report Col McAndrew Photos Holty

16th March, 2014 – Alstonville, NSW

78 members’ pre-1984 Classic Bikes were on display at Alstonville Plaza for our inaugural Show ‘n’ Shine. The event, a fundraiser for the North Coast Cancer Institute, was well promoted by the local media. This ensured a large crowd attended to admire the bikes. Most Marques were represented and the judging was a very difficult task. Our Club patron Jack Ahearn was on hand to present a trophy he had won while racing in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in 1964. He generously donated his trophy to be used as the annual perpetual award for the Best Recently Restored Club Bike. Other Motorcycle and Classic Car Clubs from surrounding areas, including a group of 40 riders from the Gold Coast, used this event as an approved club run to support the show. Planning for next year’s Show is already underway with a Bike only Swap Meet to be held in conjunction with the event.
