The Long Ride benefits cancer suffers
From September 28, over 300 motorbike riders from across Australia will embark on The Long Ride 2014, an annual initiative dedicated to raising awareness for prostate cancer and raising much-needed funds for families affected by the disease. Spanning six days, seven different routes, and all eight states and territories it is a spectacular ride ending this year at Uluru, NT. Men in rural and regional Australia have a 21 per cent higher prostate cancer mortality rate than those in the city and this initiative is a great way to raise awareness of the disease in these areas which often need it most. The Long Ride involves participants from all walks of life who are united by their love of riding, motorbikes and the knowledge that they are supporting a great cause.
