Ducati Scrambler breaks cover

Old Bike Australasia - - BUZZ BOX -

For many months, the world’s motorcycling media has been constantly titillated with snippets about the new Ducati Scrambler, and finally, the full story is out. No, it’s not a 450 single, as was the original Scrambler from the late ‘sixties, but it’s guaranteed to be easier to start. Available in four styles – Icon, Urban Enduro, Full Throttle, and Classic, the Scrambler employs the well known oil/air cooled L-twin 803cc two-valve engine, with various combinations of chassis fitments and details. The base model Icon (in Ducati Red) lists at $12,990 which the yellow version, reminiscent of the original, is $150 more. Top of the specs is the Full Throttle which comes with a Termignoni exhaust and has a RRP of $14,990. We’ll have a full test of the new model soon, and deliveries are expected to begin in January 2015.
