Wagga circuit approved
After three years of careful negotiations, the new Riverina Motor Complex at Wokolena Road, Wagga Wagga, has been given the green light by the Wagga Wagga City Council. Spokesman and owner Mick Neason says there are a number of conditions attached to the approval, which include bushfire, waste and noise management, a traffic plan for the road into the circuit and at the intersection of the Sturt Highway, Aboriginal heritage and even what colour the on-site buildings have to be, but he is confident that all these issues can be satisfactorily addressed. He added that there is an enormous groundswell of local support for the circuit, which will generate significant revenue for the district from competitors, spectators and other visitors. The next step will be the granting of a Construction Certificate to allow work on the circuit and infrastructure to begin. Watch this space.
