Grandad’s exploits

From Geoff Woods come these photos and details of his grandfather, Eric Charles. My grandfather Eric Charles won the 1930 Rhodes Cup at Box Hill, Victoria on his BSA. He also won the Mitcham Carnival Race on 29th March, 1930. During the war he was in Syria before being deployed in Singapore, where he was captured by the Japanese and spent three and a half years in a POW camp in Batavia, Indonesia.
