Lights, camera, action!
GAVEN DALL’OSTO has been out with his camera again. The hard working team at the Indian Motorcycle Museum of Australia in Brisbane gave Rudolf and the other reindeers the night off recently. Santa hitched a ride to the Bracken Ridge Tavern with Darryl and Donna White on their suitably decorated Indian outfit where he delivered presents to the patrons on 20th December. The Whites have a good relationship with the Tavern and even have a few Indians on permanent display there. If you are in the area pop in for a look and a beer. The story doesn’t end here though. This year the Museum decided to go mad and decorate the whole premises in the spirit of Christmas. Every year radio station 4KQ run a competition for the best Christmas lights in Brisbane. The lights are only part of the effort as each competing venue is advertised and every night busloads of visitors turn up to check out the displays. That meant after work each day the White family and friends had to open up the Museum, dress up in Santa suits, greet the visitors and hand out flyers until 10pm. This included Christmas Eve when Darryl also arranged a fire engine and police car to turn up for the kids. On my visit the word ‘alcohol’ was suggested as therapy after the crowds went home. Congratulations to The Indian Motorcycle Museum of Australia for winning the 4KQ Best Commercial Small Business Award for 2014. Well done for doing that bit extra for the wider community.
