Changes at Get Routed
Founder of international motorcycle freighters Get Routed, Dave Milligan, has sold a section of the business due to ongoing health issues. The New Zealand side of the business is now owned by Clive McFadden of Tuggerah, NSW.
“I will be assisting Clive with enquiries for the first few months,” says Milligan. “I will also continue to load the New Zealand shipments out of Melbourne, while Clive will do the Sydney loadings. There will be 3 shipments each out of Sydney and Melbourne next summer and using the same dates shipments from Brisbane when there’s more than 10 bikes.

Barcelona bound Although he is pulling back a little on the work load, Get Routed’s Dave Milligan says he plans to do another shipment of bikes from Australia to Barcelona in 2016. “The shipment I did in 2012 was a successful experiment and I’ve decided to repeat the exercise with an added twist. Get Routed has a small group who want to travel with me around Spain, Portugal and France in April and May next year before going to the Isle of Man TT, and as it happens I already have a group who want their bikes shipped to Vancouver, Canada at the beginning of July and back in September. The bikes going to Barcelona – some of them have asked me if I can send the bikes from Felixstowe (after the TT) to North America thus allowing them to do a complete circuit of the globe with their own bikes, before arriving back in Australia in November from Vancouver. I’m currently working on a price to get the bikes from the UK to North America (probably Montreal or Vancouver) to catch up with my wife, Maggie, whose bike will be going in the shipment from Australia to Vancouver. That means 10 weeks in Europe followed by 10 weeks in Canada/USA. Anyone else keen? If so, email Dave on [email protected] – no point calling him as he’s in Athens at the start of a 3 month Greece, Italy and France trip which includes the islands of Crete, Sicily, Sardinia and Corsica.
