Veteran Riders groups half centuries
On May 1st and May 6th respectively, the Veteran Racing Motorcyclists of Victoria and the NSW Old Timers celebrated their half centuries at their annual dinners. Held at Thornbury in Melbourne, the VRMCV attracted more than 100 patrons and saw the induction of several new members – an important step in ensuring the continuation of the group. MC Terry King presented long-time organiser Cled Davies with the prestigious Trevor Negri Trophy and conferred Life Membership on John Heaviside. Six days later in Sydney, the NSW Motor Cycle Old Timers Association clocked up 50 years with their annual dinner at the Pan-Arcadian Club at Ashbury. Numbers were up on previous years, and organiser Dennis Quinlan paid tribute to stalwart Eric Debenham who passed away four days before the dinner.
