Yamaha XS 11 Rally

The Yamaha XS1100 Rally is held annually on the first weekend in May, this event has been an annual event since 2012 with the first two rallies being held in Bourke NSW being the most central point for all to meet. In 2014 the event was held in Nymboida just south of Grafton, and this year the event was held in Wellington NSW. This year saw a smaller turn out than previous years. That may have been due to no attendees from South Australia or Victoria, there was a fairly good turn out from the Queenslanders coming from as far as Bundaburg. The Queenslanders also experienced a lot of rain as the wild weather escorted their journey to New South Wales. Upon arrival at Wellington the camaraderie and stories flowed, with a group ride to Orange on Saturday for lunch, for some a tour of the nearby caves, others a workshop/maintenance and learning session. Dinner was served with a pig on the spit followed by an impromptu raffle of great prizes and trophies topping off a great day. Sunday saw some look about the local area, others departed and some just had a rest day before departing for home on Monday. The Yamaha XS1100 rally location for 2016 is yet to be decided, but keep an eye on http://xs1100.com.au all more than welcome.
