60th party rolls on

The first event in what is sched­uled to be a six-month rolling road show to celebrate Yamaha’s 60th birth­day took place at in Au­gust at Chris Wat­son Mo­tor­cy­cles, Cess­nock, NSW. A host of Yamaha le­gends were in at­ten­dance to greet the crowds and to sign a lim­ited-edi­tion poster fea­tur­ing Mr Mo­tocross cham­pi­ons Stephen Gall and Craig Dack, en­duro leg­end Ge­off Bal­lard and road race stars Kevin Magee and Kevin Cur­tain. One lucky visi­tor went away with a free spe­cial 60th an­niver­sary TT-R50E, and over 300 peo­ple en­joyed a free sausage siz­zle, live mu­sic and other at­trac­tions on the day. The show also fea­tured a dis­play of sig­nif­i­cant bikes in­clud­ing Gall’s very first YZ250A, an orig­i­nal DT1, the V4 RZ500, and Kevin Cur­tain’s For­mula Oz-win­ning YZF-R1. The 60th an­niver­sary show con­tin­ues through­out Aus­tralia and con­cludes at the 2016 Pen­rite Broad­ford Bike Bo­nanza at Easter.
