Amaroo Park, Oran Park, Bathurst and even the short-lived McArthur Park public roads circuit in the ACT all get plenty of ink. There is of course the requisite love interest, nothing too complicated or bawdy, and a storyline that ebbs along at an easily digestible pace. Mixed in with the fiction are real life names from the era – Karl Praml from Wollongong and the living legend Jan Blizzard, who is still thankfully doing the same behind-thescenes job that has kept the sport running for decades.
