Win­ton hits 40

Aus­tralia’s old­est con­tin­u­ally run His­toric Meet­ing, His­toric Win­ton, will take place for the 40th time from Fri­day 27th to Sun­day 29th May at Win­ton Race­way near Benalla, con­ducted by the Austin 7 Club Inc. with as­sis­tance from the His­toric Mo­tor­cy­cle Rac­ing As­so­ci­a­tion of Vic­to­ria. Two days of non­stop rac­ing will fea­ture over 400 his­toric rac­ing cars and mo­tor­bikes from the 1920s to the 1980s. Cel­e­bra­tions will in­clude an­niver­saries such as: 110 years – Austin and Lagonda, 100 years – Nash, 90 years – Pen­rite Oil, Pon­tiac, Bu­gatti Type 35 World Cham­pi­onship, and Daim­ler-Benz, 60 years of go karts, and 50 years of the Chevro­let Camaro, Holden HR, and XR Fal­con. Dis­plays will in­clude Shan­nons Clas­sic Car Park fea­tur­ing car and bike clubs, Pre-1975 Clas­sic Car, Bike & His­toric Com­mer­cial Ve­hi­cle Show, All-Makes His­toric Mo­tor­bike gath­er­ing, His­toric Com­mer­cial Vans, Vin­tage Car­a­vans, Clas­sic Wooden Speed Boats, Vin­tage Go Karts, and Vin­tage Steam En­gines, with spec­ta­tor ac­cess to the Com­pe­ti­tion Pad­dock with fab­u­lous old rac­ing ma­chines on open dis­play.
