The Clarex Special

Last issue we featured a photo (The Trimanx) sent in by Maurice Austin from the collection of sidecar racer Alec Corner. Here’s another one. This is the Clarex Special, built by friends and business partners Clarrie Rial and Rex Tingate (father of Rod). Maurice adds,” Clarrie and Rex’s garage still exists on the Nepean Highway and North Road, Gardenvale, intersection, albeit as car dealer Tiny Town. Clarrie rented the rear workshop. I don’t know the location of the photo but it is circa 1962 and is obviously pre-race!”
