Historic Hailwood shots

Our valued correspondent in the Isle of Man, JOHN DALTON, has been sorting through his vast photographic library and unearthed these never-before-published shots from 1977 when the late Mike Hailwood visited the Isle of Man to ride a TZ700 Yamaha for Peter Starr’s documentary shot during the Manx Grand Prix. Although this was a low key visit (at least until the word got around that Mike the Bike was back in The Island), it was another part of the series of events that lured Mike back to race, and win, at the 1978 TT.

Once the word was out, the fans swarmed in.
