The second volume from prolific motorcycle photographer and Ducati aficionado Phil Aynsley is another wonderful collection of great photographs, supplemented by a foreword by legendary US Ducati punter Cook Neilson. Local Ducati guru Ian Gowanloch has written the introduction to the three chapters, covering Road, Racing, and The Rest, but it is the photography that sets this book apart. Volume One in the series, published in 2009, sold out quickly in a run of 2,500, but there are still a few of the special limited edition available, of which only 100 were printed. These were $1000 but are available complete with Volume Two for a total of $800 (see website for details). No doubt this new volume will be a similar success and has been eagerly awaited by Ducati fans around the world. All the images in Volume Two are new and this weighty tome is a welcome addition to the set. As Cook Neilson says in his foreword, “This book makes an enormous contribution to the strange and wonderful universe that is Ducati. Clearly, Phil is worthy of Ducati; just as clearly, Ducati is worthy of Aynsley.”
