An honest Manx at Mossgreen
The up-coming auction by Mossgreen, to be held in Melbourne on 27th November, will feature several very interesting motorcycles, including a Rene Gillet with an original Bernadet sidecar, and a longstroke 350cc featherbed Manx Norton. In a disarmingly honest appraisal, Mossgreen marketing specialist Catherine Davison says, “Absolutely no-one famous ever rode this Manx and it never won anything. It was used at club level and was last ridden in the 1980s. It has been prepared for dry storage and is currently set up for display but for around $1,000 it could be made ready for racing at club level. In my view it presents a great opportunity to acquire a gorgeous Manx Norton for under $40,000 and would proudly adorn anyone’s study or man cave…or girl cave!” For more details of the auction see the Mossgreen ad in this issue.
