Dirt days (Raritee)

I came across a copy of OBA 60 and got transported back in time when I read the article on the Wambanumba track at Young. All the names came flooding back; Keith Davies, Greg Primmer, Carl Askew, Kevin Fraser and Herb Jefferson as well as yourself. I’m originally from Newcastle and in the early ‘70s there was a big bunch of us that used to race all over the place nearly every weekend. My favourite track was Salty Creek Speedway but we used to race at the old Heddon Greta oiled track as well. And there were lots of clubs; Wallsend, Mayfield, Cessnock, Hunter Valley Light Cycle.
