The Burt blasts off
With six different racing events, six different tracks, a Toy and Poker run and a Rally to bind it all together, the 2016 Burt Munro Challenge is set to be the biggest yet. Nowhere in the world is there a motorcycling event that offers more variety and hospitality than the ‘Burt’. Star attraction this year will be TT hero and television personality Guy Martin, who will tackle two events on his turbocharged Suzuki GSXR1100 and will officially open the new Classic Motorcycle Mecca museum. Organisers expect huge numbers of fans to descend on Invercargill for the event, which begins on November 24 and runs to 27th. The Burt Munro Rally opens at Oreti Park on 24th, with the ever-popular Hill Climb at Bluff on the same day and the NZ Super-X Champions at Winton in the evening. Friday sees the NZ Beach Racing Championships at Oreti Beach, followed by races at Teretonga Park on Saturday with Oreti Park Speedway in the evening. The Challenge winds up with the Honda Invercargill Street Races on Sunday. For more information visit www.burtmunrochallenge.co.nz
