Lap-scoring ‘lottery’?

Spare a thought for the sheer difficulty of manually lapscoring 67 racers over six hours on a small circuit with any degree of accuracy. How would you ensure that one wasn’t missed when a cluster of bikes flashed past the scorers? You could be excused for thinking it was a bit of a lottery. Little wonder confusion and controversy often prevailed.
