A day on the green

Shannons CEMCC Engadine Show

- Report and photos Sue Scaysbrook

25 September, 2017 – Engadine, NSW

Dark skies meant slightly reduced numbers for the 17th year of the CEMCC Illawarra Branch Annual Show Day, but the quality was still there among the healthy line up of bikes in their various divisions. The Show Day is always a popular social occasion to stroll the lush green lawns and renew friendships. The venue is in a perfect position as it’s clearly visible from the main road giving the show an obvious street presence, inviting people in. As always, the day featured an amazing diversity of motorcycles, with models from pre-war to comparatively modern. The Speedway/Short Circuit display has become quite a feature and this year was no different with a great line up of bikes from many eras, and a number of old faces from the dirt track side of the sport. Presentations were quickly conducted at 12.30pm as the weather closed in and the threatened rains came, but it had been another wonderful and well organised show by the CEMCC stalwarts, with valued support from Shannons Insurance.
