Cruising the Clarence

- Report Terry Ryan Photos Holt

Another successful rally with the weather being very kind and our entrants enjoying good rides and good company; nice to see a growing number of Queenslanders coming along. Friday afternoon saw us leave rally base at Grafton Showground for a leisurely ride to Copmanhurst after the initial plan to go to Jackadgary had to be abandoned due to road works. We returned to base for a meet & greet and sausage sizzle. On Saturday morning about 90 bikes left base to travel alongside the Clarence, over the river on the Bluff Point ferry at Lawrence then on to Maclean Lookout for morning tea followed by entrants choice judging and lunch at the Brushgrove Hotel where the new (he’d been there just 6 days) publican and his wife and staff did a great job to feed the hungry horde. The Saturday night dinner was at Grafton District Services Club where we were looked after as usual with an excellent meal and held the usual presentations and tombola raffle. On Sunday morning a good number of entrants rode to Wooli to take part in the annual Kids With Cancer weekend that the Wooli community put on. The club would like to thank our sponsors, particularly Shannons Insurance, and all the entrants and club members who combined to make a great weekend.
