Police at play

Attached are some images I’ve finally located on motorcycle chariot races. Apologies for the quality, Kodak Instamatic. These were taken at the old Sydney Showground at a Police Spectacular, 25th October 1974. The bikes used were Suzuki two strokes, either GT380 or GT550s – spectacular stuff with the police jockeys dressed for the part. From memory it wasn’t just a quiet demo ride, they really got into it! Here is an excerpt from the police annual report for 1974.
