Sixties stuff

Bob Cameron from Katoomba writes, “For no particular reason other than they may be of interest to readers, I enclose two photos from the ‘sixties. One shows the motorcycle display at the Sydney Motor Show, taken 11th October 1963 (left). It seems to be a composite stand of all makes and models with a section for vintage machines at the rear. The racing bike is a Honda CR93 and the man polishing the Suzuki Colleda is Sid Goodsell, who was known for breaking inter-city records pre-war, and was a partner in the Sydney motorcycle firm Palmer & Goodsell. The other shot (above) was taken on 23rd April 1960 and is the bike section of the MTA (Motor Traders Association) Jubilee Motorcade in Sydney. I am guessing that this group had something to do with Bennett & Wood in view of the number of BSAs and early Hondas, and the chap in the background in the hat is B&W sales manager Harry Bartrop.”
