Deck the Hall

Old Bike Australasia - - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR -

Great article on Quorn Hall in Tassie by Ken Young and I couldn’t read it quick enough as my uncle, Geoff Martin raced there on his 1930 AJS R10 500cc OHC. There’s a great photo of Geoff on his outfit leading his arch rival Dave Powell on Page 54, but Ken has called my Uncle “George” instead of Geoff. I spoke to Geoff this morning, he’s turning 88 next month and he can recall all of his races with great clarity. The engine from his outfit is in Melbourne sitting around doing nothing and I would love to see it back in Tasmania with Geoff. Great Magazine, I look forward to each copy. Craig McDonald Tasmania Craig, Geoff’s ship has come in. This issue contains the story of John Rettig’s remarkable restoration of Geoff Martin’s R10 AJS (page 46), with plenty of pictures. You can also look forward to your choice of RariTee t-shirt. – Ed
