Blow Your Own
Letters
I received this long-held family photograph (above) of my cousin Ken Le Breton, aka The White Ghost, and felt I had to share it with your readers. It was taken on 5th January 1951 at Sydney Showgrounds*, only half a circuit before the serious accident he had whilst attempting to pass the English rider Higg. Ken died the next day from his injuries, with my aunt Mary, his mum, at his side. It shows the no-holds barred approach to Speedway racing – note Higgs’ eyes. Mike Trevor Paynesville, Vic.
