Vic Maberley

-

I was very sad to read that Vic Maberley passed away recently, a true gentleman with a kind and ever willing heart to help all those he knew or had only just met. Both Vic and myself began the Indian restoration bug in 1973, his worn out Indian Scout outfit transformed back to mechanical and cosmetic beauty, and my ‘44 Chief outfit were a real sight to behold chuffing around Concord in Sydney, especially when passing the local bowling club, whose patrons would come to a startling pause as we rolled past. Very fond memories of the early days forming the Classic Enthusiasts Club with Trevor Thomas at the helm, Vic often showing up on the Indian for the monthly meeting, sometimes in pouring rain when most of us would be arriving by car! We will miss you mate, I recall a quote Vic said once, “It’s not that I don’t like all pommy bikes, just most of them”. Craig Wilson Via email
