MV back in Moto GP
For the first time since 1976, MV Agusta will be represented in Moto GP from 2019. Admittedly, the entry in the Moto2 class will use the new-for-2019 Triumph 765cc triple cylinder powerplant which will power the whole field, but this will be installed in a purpose-built part-trellis, part-aluminium frame similar to what is used on the current F3 production models. The new Moto2 team will be run by the experienced Forward Racing Team under the control of CEO Giovanni Cuzari. MV Agusta president Giovanni Castiglioni said, “MV Agusta is the most successful brand in the history of motorcycling and the return of MV Agusta to the grand prix is a great honour for me. The Moto2 World Championship is very competitive and in order to be successful we need to apply the best of our technology and experience in racing motorcycle development.” MV will begin track testing the new machine in August.
