Bonanza 2019 – calling all CB750s!

-

Organisers of the 2019 Shannons Insurance Broadford Bike Bonanza are calling on all owners of Honda Fours to dust them off and bring them to Broadford next Easter for the biggest gathering of the iconic motorcycle in the Southern hemisphere. Event Manager Peter Drakeford says, “There will be space put aside in the program at lunchtimes for a parade of Honda Fours only, for those who don’t want to mix it up with the regular punters. Various Honda 4 clubs around the country are starting to plan their calendars around the event and should contact Mick Pettifer on 0407340273 to coordinate space. As ever, clubs can promote their club with free space for a 3x3 marquee in the area of their choice.

“Sidecars of all shapes and sizes will be featured in 2019 – road, road race, trials, speedway, track and motocross; and the keenest of that motocross crew coming from South Australia where the sidecar class is still popular in even the legendary 24-Hour Trial. Over at the speedway, more names are coming out year by year. Last year’s guests Jason and Phil Crump will be there again, joined by John Boulger and Phil Herne, the last of the team that won the 1976 World Team Cup. Other names famous on the dirt are John Titman and Dennis Nash from WA on the famed speedway outfit the ‘Nashmobile’. “The year cut-off move to a 25-year rolling one means the pre-1993 bikes lying unloved can now be used at the SIBBB. This is a boon for the road scene as the road track only will be open Easter Friday to accommodate the expected influx. But the off-road scene will see an increase too in those motocross and enduro motorcycles that trigger happy memories to our younger participants. The success of the Gala Dinner in 2018 really had people talking and the hilarity of the unconventional interviews had the sell out crowd in stitches all night. All said it was the best ever and we expect the seats to go quickly for the next. Bookings open on 29th October, 2018 at TryBooking.com/YPHQ.”
