Triumph’s new twins

-

Familiar looking but different – that’s the new Street Twin and Street Scrambler twins from Triumph. Both get the ‘high torque’ 900cc engine with new camshafts, balancers, and a new clutch. The engine now revs to 7,500 rpm at which point it pumps out 48kW, an increase of 18 per cent over the old model, plus a torque output of 80Nm. Brembo four-piston callipers now clamp the front disc and there are new cartridge internals in the front forks.

Electronics have also been heavily revised, with new Rain and Riding modes which automatically adjust the throttle map and traction control settings. Both models have a huge accessory catalogue; 120 custom accessories for the Street Scrambler and 140 for the Street Twin. The Scrambler comes in Fusion White, Cranberry Red and Khaki Green, while the Street Twin’s colours are Matt Ironstone, Korosi Red, or Jet Black.
