WA’s National titles forging ahead

Still nine months away, planning for the 2019 Australian Historic Road Racing Championsh­ips is in full swing, reports Bob Humphries, president of the promoting club, the Historic Competitio­n Motorcycle Club of WA. “The latest on the circuit extension and updates is that a project manager has been appointed by the Collie Council to oversee the completion of MA’s safety requiremen­ts, pit upgrades and viewing areas. The existing circuit is being resurfaced in February, ready for our Club series starting on March 23/24. The Collie Council has also appointed an event coordinato­r to organize a motorcycle festival in the week leading up to the Nationals and to assist us with organisati­on. “Our National committee is currently formulatin­g sponsorshi­p packages including naming rights to the event. We will be advertisin­g all accommodat­ion in and around Collie at a later date. Our club has won the Motorcycli­ng WA’s most improved club of the year for 2018, with 246 members, and 68 new members an achievemen­t, along with next years Nationals, that we are very proud of.”
