Frenchman PATRICK GODET, famous world-wide for his work on Vincents and Egli-Vincents, died on November 27 aged 67. A member of the UK Vincent Owners Club, Patrick founded the French version and was instrument­al in organising rallies as well as racing in Classic events, becoming quite a star in this scene in the 1980s. In the ‘90s, he imported a quantity of Vincent motorcycle­s and spare parts and began a business in Rouen specialisi­ng in restoratio­ns. He later began to produce replicas of the Swiss Egli frames and went on to produce both v-twin and single cylinder road and racing machines.
