Alla saluti di Toni!

Old Bike Australasia - - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR -

I was interested to see your story on the Poli Airone Rossi Aperitivo drink in the OBA 78. Whilst on holidays in Italy in 2017 I visited the Poli Distillery in Schiavon as they were having an open day with free tours of the distillery and on-site museum dedicated to the production of Grappa. The original Moto Guzzi Airone bike featured on the label and ridden by Toni Poli is still owned by the family and is on display in the museum, albeit suspended on chains and hanging in a stairwell. I have attached some photos (above & right) of the bike I took during my visit. The distillery is also not quite near Verona, but is just down the road from Breganze and Zane where Laverdas were made, and not far from Asolo where Alpinestars originated. A great part of Italy to visit, not too far from Venice.
