Ron Weste
Doyen of the Kawasaki K1300 scene in Australia and highly respected overseas, RON WESTE passed away on Easter Saturday at his home in Victoria. Ron owned many of the big sixes in his lifetime and twice visited The Netherlands for the K1300 International Rally, most recently in 2018. After a career in the insurance industry, Ron retired to spend more time riding and to enjoy his other hobby, photography. He became a dab hand with a camera and his shots won several awards. Ron was a frequent contributor to OBA, especially with coverage of the Broadford Bonanza. He was due to cover the 2019 event but sadly time ran out for Ron, a happy and friendly bloke with a passion for motorcycling in all its forms.
