It was make or break for Ducati, which up till this point had relied on an increasingly dated range of singles, but it worked. Vindication of Ducati’s faith in Taglioni’s design came at Imola in 1972, with the famous 1-2 by Paul Smart and Bruno Spaggiari in the prestigious 200 Mile race. According to the author, only 6159 round-case 750s were built from 1971-1978, accounting for the rarity and value of the models today. This book covers the 750GT, 750 Sport and Super Sport from 1971 to 1978, analysing each on a year-by-year basis, as well as providing an in-depth history of the company itself. There are many rare photos included, from prototypes and early production models through to racing shots that include the significant contribution to the Ducati legend by Australian racers of the period.
