Old Charles

I enjoyed the story of the supercharged V-twin AJS in OBA 80. It mentions one of the owners as being Charles Mortimer, who was a noted racer at Brooklands in UK in the ‘thirties and later ran a successful business supplying tyres for vintage cars and motorcycles. Charles sponsored a number of up and coming riders, including Griff Jenkins who won the Senior Manx Grand Prix on the Isle of Man in 1963.
