Pirie to pounce back?
A CONCERTED EFFORT is underway to see racing return to the famous Port Pirie Half Mile Speedway in South Australia. The man behind the project is Neil Burston, noted Speedway and Long Track historian, owner and restorer of some very significant motorcycles, including Jack Young’s World Championship-winning JAP. Says Neil, “We now have the lease on the old Pirie half mile and are currently working towards bringing it back to a state fit for racing again. The cab shot is a shot from the grader as it re grades the track, while the Super X track that was built on the speedway should be gone soon.
