Victoria’s new circuit edges closer
To be located on McGregor Road, Packenham, 56km south east of Melbourne,
Australia’s newest motor racing facility is expected to see work begin before the end of the year.
Cardinia Shire Council has released plans sell a parcel of land for a development that will house Packenham Auto Club and a world-class motor sport facility. The site will also house a clay target shooting range, plus a facility for the Koo Wee Rup Motorcycle Club. The road racing circuit is expected to be 3.6km in length and capable of hosting some international car and motorcycle events. Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr. Collin Ross said the motor sport facility would include a (road) race track, pit facilities and associated infrastructure, including an administration centre and hotel. It will offer driver training and education, and provide space for exhibitions.
