Blakey’s mates get together
IN THESE COVID TIMES, the annual celebration of Ken Blake’s life, normally held in Melbourne on the anniversary of his death in the Isle of Man on 9th June, 1981, was not possible. However the group known as ‘Blakey’s Mates’ managed to get together for a cook-your-own BBQ with plentiful refreshments in Ken’s home town of Strathalbyn. The large gathering featured motorcycles, racing bikes, engines and memorabilia. Seen here are Tony Enderby (left), with photographer Rob Lewis, going over some old races and memories with some of Ken’s trophies. Even bigger and better events may be held in the future say the crew from Blakey’s Mates.
