Manshed Auction 29th August
Only for the virus we would have had the fourth annual American Antique Motorcycle Association at Bulli. However there was still the auction conducted by Keith Levy at Manshed Auctions rooms at Hornsby. With complete and operational motorcycles there was a bit of a mixed bag when it came to what sold and what didn’t.
Both local and international bidders were registered online, buyer’s premium was 16%. Lot 1 was a 1915 680cc Indian Hedstrom Racer which after 42 bids sold for $26,000. But the one where there was a lot more action by bidders was a 1922 Harley Davidson WF Sport Twin with 71 bids and selling at $49,500. Others included 1942 WLA Harley Davidson $18,750. However there were two other 1942 WLA machines, one of which was New Old stock and did not reach the reserve price. Others not selling included a Z1R Kawasaki and a 1972 H2 Mach 1V
750 $11,500 and a 1971 GT750 Suzuki $13,500. Others that did not reach reserve price were a 1985 Harley Davidson Wide Glide, 1982 Yamaha XJ750D, 1956 125cc Benelli. Also not all parts sold but a sidecar body and several fittings sold for $750.
Harley Davidson 6 volt generator $420, NOS WLA crankcases $950 and two 1938 Medals awarded to the 1936 World Speedway Champion Lionel Van Pragg sold for $300.
Hopefully this time next year this virus will all be over and we will be back at Bulli.
See you next issue, Pete
