This issue we look at a significant moment in the history of the Castrol Six Hour Race – the final event at Oran Park in 1987. These shots came to Gary via fellow speedway devotee and historian Tony Loxley and are all the work of one of our best known lensmen, Bill Forsyth. In any 6 Hour Race, much of the action was in the pits, and that’s where Bill stationed himself to record these graphic and sometimes candid images.
An agonisingly slow stop for Aaron Slight to change a punctured front tyre. Team mate Robert Holden stands by the rear jack. The team put up a remarkable performance to finish 3rd outright and 1st 750.
