VJMC strikes gold in Bendigo
With the Covid-cancellation of the 2020 VJMC Rally in Queensland, members of this very active club have had to cool their heels for over 12 months. But October 2021 sees the popular event return, in a new location where it will be staged for the next two years. 2021 Rally Coordinator Phil Scorah says plans are well underway. “2020 brought many disappointments and one was the cancellation of the Queensland 2020 VJMC National Rally at Toowoomba.
Rather than reschedule the 2021 rally in Queensland, it was decided to move to Victoria for the next rally. The 2021 VJMC National Rally planning was for March 2021 but the necessary cautious approach in a ‘COVID normal’ scenario confirms the rally dates of 15 to 17 October 2021 in the historic gold-run city of Bendigo, in Central Victoria.
“We are very excited to announce the support of Suzuki Australia as the naming sponsor for the 2021 Suzuki VJMC National Rally. The objective is to make the 2021 rally the most-attended rally in recent times. Hence Bendigo was chosen as an easily accessible location with the Greater Bendigo City assisting to make this a memorable event. Information will follow about the opening of the rally registration process and a central accommodation booking facility. More details will follow in Old Bike Australasia, the VJMC website and VJMC Australia Facebook. Mark October 15-17 in your calendar as a ‘must do event’. We look forward to seeing you there in Bendigo.”
