Gary Reid has been trawling the eBay sites again, searching for classic shots from the Golden Era of Motorcycle racing. This time he has grabbed some real beauties from 1961, two of these capturing the maestro Mike Hailwood in action.

March 23rd, 2021 marked the 40th anniversar­y of Hailwood’s death in a car accident, so it is timely that we check out that inimitable style once more.

 ??  ?? RIGHT A fabulous shot of Mike on the Lacey-tuned 500 Norton on which he won the Senior TT that year. This shot is from the Aintree Circuit near Liverpool, which hosted the Formula 1 Grand Prix on five occasions from 1955 to 1962. It also held motorcycle events on the full 4.8 km circuit, and continues to do so on the shorter 2.47 km Club Circuit.
