It should have been the 32nd show this year but in 2020 only one week before our show was due to take place, COVID19 restrictions took hold in Adelaide which caused the Glenelg council to quite rightly cancel the event on us. No such problems this year as we had a plan, a COVID plan no less, and marshals and QR’s up the Wazoo.

Over 100 Latin lovelies were entered in the show on the day and yet more were in the trade displays as well as parked around the reserve during the day while a steady stream of spectators viewed the bikes that were laid out in order of age. 750 Green frame? Check. Superleggera? Check. Desmosedici? Well, we had two of them as well as a broad spectrum of Italian marques dating back to the ‘50s. The weather played the game with a balmy 23 degrees with some light cloud cover making for a great Sunday out down by the Bay with of course Pizza and coffee available, and a pub over the road. Once again, we held a raffle on the day limited to 100 tickets which over the years has now raised more than twelve thousand dollars for various charities.

Our guest judges this year were Isle of Man racer, Davo Johnson who has raced a Ducati at the Macau Grand Prix. In a two-for-one deal, his illustrious father Murray joined him as the “older bike” expert. Davo is currently in Australia due to the IOM racing being again cancelled due to the COVID19 pandemic. The world’s loss was our gain.
