Goulburn Swap relocates

For a number of years now the Goulburn Motorcycle Swap Meet has been held at the local Showground on the third weekend in January. It was bad timing as that is usually when there are fairly hot days which makes it virtually unbearable with the bitumen surface. So the committee worked towards a change of venue and took it to Wakefield Park Raceway on the outskirts of the town. This was a vast improvement but the timing the 5-6 June was when it is extremely cold down there. I think that perhaps this may have been the reason as to why so many buyers arrived late on the Sunday morning well after the 6.00am opening. There is a swag of good indoor sites there that are usually housing the machines racing at the circuit. I believe that there are steps in place to negotiate with the circuit’s owners to have the event moved to a date when the weather is more suitable, March or May perhaps.
