World’s fastest Gold Star for sale

-

At the 2017 Isle of Man Classic TT, the late Chris Swallow created history when he averaged over 100 mph for the race, aboard the BSA Gold Star owned by New Zealander Neville Wooderson – the fastest-ever time by a Gold Star at the world’s most famous circuit.

Swallow, who migrated to NZ around ten years ago with his girlfriend Jen, became a major force in local Historic racing on the BSA, which was constantly developed by its owner. At the 2019 Classic TT, Swallow lost his life in the Senior Classic earlier in race week when the Linsdell Royal Enfield he was riding crashed at Ballaugh.

When Neville Wooderson passed away in July 2019, the Gold Star was bequeathed to Chris, and subsequently from Chris to Jen, who had been left the task of raising their two young children after Chris’ death. Now it has been decided to sell the BSA, which came with two ABSAF engines and many other spares, to finance the family. Phil Price, for whom Chris rode on many occasions, is handling the arrangements and can be contacted by email at phil@philpricesculpture.com n
