When Covid came along and nobbled any prospects of overseas travel, this brake on frittering away sizeable chunks of money combined with an unpredictable but recurring series of lockdowns, restrictions and prohibitions meant that Beelzebub would find work for idle hands and wallets to do. So of course, my thoughts turned once more to the folly of doing up yet another ‘old Italian’. Having done a couple of Ducatis I had a hankering for a change of breed to something else Italian with a venerable history…Mondial, Parilla, whatever, but something ‘a bit different’.
