Mick Dillon

-

MICK DILLON, who passed away in Melbourne in September, enjoyed a lengthy racing career and was frequently with the front runners.

By the mid ‘fifties he had acquired his first Manx Norton and put in some strong performances during the tour by Geoff Duke in 1954/55. Mick was one of the very first to get one of the YDS1-based Clubman racers (see OBA 58) from a batch imported by Milledge Bros around 1961, and he raced the quirky Japanese machine at Phillip Island and then new Calder circuit. He had been in poor health for some time but was a regular at the annual Veteran Racing Motorcyclists of Victoria dinner. ■
