OBA Classic Challenge off to a rolling start

-

An innovation at the 2022 OBA Classic Challenge at Sydney Motor Sport Park on February 12-13 will be rolling starts for selected feature races, as opposed to the normal grid starts. It should make for a spectacular run into SMSP’s daunting Turn 1. Event organiser Ken Lindsay says plans for the event are progressing smoothly. “The OBA CC will be very similar to the event that was washed out in 2021. To avoid a clash with the re-scheduled Australian Historic Championships at Mount Gambier, and to get away from the bad weather that seems to plague Sydney in March/April, we have moved our event forwards to mid-February. Qualifying will take place on Saturday morning, and the ARDC will run a private practice day on Friday 11th February for those wanting extra track time. “Entries are open now and close on January 21st, 2022. There will be 15 races on Saturday and 27 on Sunday and based on 2021, we are expecting over 200 entries. All classes, from Period 2 to Pre Modern, plus Buckets and Sidecars will be catered for. A feature of the Sidecar events will be a two-leg Doug Chivas Memorial.” For all information contact Ken Lindsay on 0439 871 927 or email highwaystarmce@gmail.com ■
